Temperament

Work strain is generally more active than the type of show, the two strains is a charming little dog and happy, with a tendency to be stubborn and single minded on occasion. As a species, Cocker is never happier than when he has some mental stimulation and exercise should be done whether it’s to pick up a ball, Frisbee chasing, the work to be done or the water to swim in.

The Cocker Work typically requires more mental stimulation than their partners because of the nature of what is brought up to do, so it is important that prospective owners make sure they know where the tension they bring home to enable them to meet the dog’s physical and behavioral requirements. They are alert and intelligent to make them receive the training, however, thought they could ‘wander’ and be led by their noses! With this in mind schedule, stimulates necessary training varies from an early age to achieve the best from your dog.
